Dear Customers,
We have decided to flex our muscles as a tiny coffee roaster. Because we are small, we can afford to cherry pick the coffees we buy. We’re not buying container loads of coffee so we are not constrained to buying from large estates or mass distributors. We don’t compromise quality to get the large quantity of beans needed to feed a large roaster. We may pay a few cents per pound more than the mid-size and large roasters, but our overhead is incredibly low compared to the big guys and the money spent goes into the product, not the bureaucracy.
So what does this mean for you? Well, those few extra cents per pound buys us better quality beans. (I mean we won’t pay more unless it shows up in the cup.) We roast in small batches in a roaster that gives us the best chance of producing the perfect roast. And our idea of a company meeting is a cupping session to be sure we're buying and producing great coffee. In the end all our effort is aimed at satisfying your desire for that memorable cup of black gold.
You will notice that our prices are lower than any of the big guys. For example, the same quality coffee you find at Peet’s (peets.com) for $12.95 is only $7.95 on this site. The price is low because being small and frugal allows us to survive at this price, and in this economy, consumers need a break from luxury pricing.
For our regular customers I know you’re loving this news. For new customers we welcome you to our site and hope you find something you would like to try.
Regards,
Allen Walter, Owner
